25 Years Later. . .

Gusts of Popular Feeling is running a great series on the 25th anniversary of the 1988 Seoul Olympics, South Korea’s first big global “coming out” party.

I knew there’d been some minor controversies but my mind is kind of blown at just how much anti-American sentiment was involved in the wake of decades of US-backed military dictatorships, including the 1980 Gwangju Massacre.  Fascinating stuff.
