RIP Roger Ebert

My favorite thing about him?  Besides his excellent reviewing skills?

He easily transitioned from the pre- to the post-Internet age, realizing things like Twitter and the Internet in general were opportunities.  He didn’t resent a younger generation coming of age with these communication technologies.  He had little to no anxiety about the Internet because he was confident in his abilities, and knew that people would still seek out his writing and ideas and experience.

Compare this to asshats like Aaron Sorkin, for whom “Internet girls” are a threat, because the gate-keepers are no longer in place.
