Cheesy

As we head towards the end of the semester one of my adult evening students randomly brought a bottle of red and two packs of sliced American cheese to class last night to celebrate the New Year.

This might sound kind of tacky, but it was actually quite a thoughtful gesture, albeit an unexpected one.  Koreans don’t normally drink much red or white wine, and I think he wanted to make me feel more “at home” so to speak.

Anyways, add drinking two paper cups of wine and munching two slices of processed cheese with students to my list of unexpectedly Korean things that have happened to me.

This made me laugh. Very sweet gesture though…

  2. Ooooooooh! Triple-double please add about one more paragraph of explanation to this and submit it to The New Korea Files Project. It would fit in brilliantly in our “Kindnesses” section.
